HELLO FROM MEXICO!! Let me tell you this week has been so insane. Day one my companion didn't get here very early so I was on my own for like 5 hours. So I hung out with some other elders from another district. Our houses (yes houses) are pretty nice. The cleaning ladies only come once a week so its real tough. (sarcasm) The only bad thing is trying to get 4 elders in and out of a shower in 45 min. We'll get it eventually! Congrats to Sam and Megan. The emails said Mason so I guess the name Cash is out. Conference was way cool, especially with 700 other missionaries. I don't have my notes with me so i'll probably mention it next time I can email. We listened to a devotional from BYU by Elder Holland last night, oh my goodness. Its was a big slap in the face because we were being really goofy these past few days and then Holland was getting heated and slamming his fist on the pulpit. There are times that I think wow I'm ready to go home or I'm sick of Mexico I think of the people in LA praying for this gospel and anxiously awaiting the message. It's tough turning your whole life around and focusing on others. There's no me time anymore its the Lords time. So dad started working this week? Hey, me too. What are you going to do working solo again?! It's really cool that from day one all the teachers and other missionaries speak Spanish At first that sounded like the worst but its getting me used to listening to natives which is my downfall right now. They speak so fast I can usually get the last word of the sentence. I cant imagine having no Spanish taken before this because I'd be so lost. Day 2 we taught a mock instigator completely in Spanish ! My comp is from Utah of course There's a lot of those here. Hes way good at Spanish which is helpful if I have questions. The food is very... Authentic. All the food is SUPER sketchy looking but most of it is pretty tasty. I have eaten so much cantaloupe I can barely manage to eat it anymore, which is pretty sad. On the plane ride in I was all alone but I met up with an Hermana at customs so that was helpful because I'm not about the paperwork life. OH I forgot to mention I found something out during conference. Sitting in a chair, wearing a suit has now become the most comfortable I can get, second to my bed. But the bed is annoying because its hot in the night and freezing during the day, never comfortable. Not to mention the mosquitoes They aren't as aggressive as home. They are kind of like flies. We always have swarms of them outside the front door so we have to run in and out of the house. I woke up with a swollen eyelid a few days ago like on high adventure. We're not sure what caused it but I got some sketchy ointment from the clinic and it went away. A few days ago there was a riot outside the walls around the CCM. One of the elders stuck his head up and they threw a can at him. Were not sure what they were upset about but it was weird. The Spanish is getting along but its definitely not easy. The sentence structure is ridiculous so when I try and translate what I want to say to Spanish the natives don't understand. The struggling is real my friends. Speaking of the natives, they are suuuuuper nice. They want to learn English and we want to learn Spanish so we scratch each others backs. We ate lunch with some natives today. I've been here a week and I can pray, bear my testimony kind of teach a lesson and have small talk all in Spanish SPEAKING OF TODAY, we went to the temple! It was so different, but very cool. The building looks very mexican-y for sure, its got a lot of wood on the inside which was a nice change. The session was in Spanish so like 6 of us had to wear headphones and listen to English Don't be that kid. We've been getting along super well. 2 nights ago we were telling stories about weird sacrament meetings and I started laughing so hard I threw up in the sink. Es verdad aqui! Love and miss you guys so much and its only been a week! Hasta luego!
Elder Wilson
