Happy Birthday to Jake. I cant believe hes that old. Oh yeah, that made me so mad when someone stole that money. The only think I can think happened was I left my bag in the classroom during a meal and someone came into the classroom and stole it out of my bag. My favorite teacher has probably been Hermano Hardy. He's so good at teaching. He just walks into the classroom and looks into your soul. He showed us mission pics a few days ago while was cool, but now I'm itching to get out of here. I'm doing fine on supplies and everything. I need new glucose tabs though, the ones I have are piña colada. grosssss.
I'M SO EXCITED TO GET DIET PEPSI ON THE PLANE! Oh and real food once we get to LA. The food here has been so sketchy It makes mcdonalds look appealing. We haven't been doing gym everyday but we have a ton of options when we do. We have been trying to get a tennis game worked, out but no luck so far. everyone is about that soccer life and I'm not, so its been a struggle trying to avoid that, haha.
As far as seminary goes. I wish I would've actually paid attention simply because I don't know where good verses are and seminary is all about marking scriptures. Most of the people of my district are bible scholars and it would've been real nice to have help before that. I think almost everyday, man why didn't I prepare for my mission that whole 6 years while I was in Young Mens. I'll send Parker another email to follow up on that.
One of our morning teachers just told us today that she had a scar break open and it got infected. Sketchy Mexico right? Well she has to get surgery so we won't see her again. Which is a real shame. She was street smart which serves her well in big old Mexico City. Oh you guys will get a kick out of this. I went with someone in my district to get a shot ( for moral support) and as we were walking into the doctors office he was just reading over an early church members profile. He had quite the conversion story and He served a mission and did awesome, served as an area 70 and much more. At the end of his life he wrote a Spanish hymn "placentero nos es trabajar" I asked the doctor what placentero means and he said he didn't know. It was quiet for a few seconds and I said "Its looks like placenta lets be honest" He did NOT find that funny. He just stared at me awkwardly. By far the weirdest doctor experience I've had. Ew, the other day during breakfast, a bird flew into the comedor (where we eat) and tried to fly back out but it missed the door and hit a window. So it preceded to hit the window 4 more times trying to get out and in the process broke its wing. Keep in mind this all happened in about 14.67 seconds. The girl that was eating by the door was covered in feathers. It was funny but the bird died so we were all deeply saddened. My main morning teacher has been pooped on twice. Two separate occasions, while she has been talking to one of the missionaries. Its like shes poop city or something. That teacher told my companion and I that we had taught her the best example she's every seen of "teaching people lessons". Too many people get too focused on the people's problems and forget that they are there to teach the Doctrine of Christ. She had us reenact the lesson in front of the class. That same day while we were teaching her ( shes one of our mock investigators) I was testifying about the importance of the Book of Mormon and how blessed we are to have it. This started with her question why doesn't every religion have the Book of Mormon, she feels so good when reading and she knows it to be the word of God. I answered with how right she was that everyone needs it and that's why, as reps. of Christ. we were there to bring her this message. Then asked her to be baptized (on the 4th visit) she accepted and was SO close to tears. My comp and I were a little teary eyed as well. Super sweet experience. Oh and the guy at the temple today told me that I sounded like a native to him during the session. So I guess I'm doing something right.
This past week was Dia de Muertos, which is huge down here. Our branch president and his wife put on a little fiesta for us. We had pan de muertos which is like that sugar bread you always make. We had this sketchy jello that I had to turn into the guy from Man vs Food to finish. It was very tasteless. Oh and we had scorching chocolate. Which is just hot chocolate, but you don't have a working esophagus afterwards. It was a good time. It was funny to see what little expression of America people can muster down here. It was Halloween, so I dressed up as a missionary. My roommates and I carved apples like pumpkins, i'll send pictures if I can. Oh and a girl taped leaves all over herself and i guess she was a tree?
The CCM has been real fun but I'm ready to get started with the real stuff. Love and miss you all so much!
