Elder Wilson's letter 3-10-14

Hello hello!

Thanks so much for all the goodies, Im way excited. So even online there aren't mini Spanish scriptures? The ones I have are just really big and its a struggle to carry. Plus they aren't indexed so I wanted to get some now ones anyway. I cant believe Parker of all people is the one who isn't freaking out about being in little ole Preston. I sure hope you guys are moved to Salt Lake by the time I get home though. :) Speaking of Dad, Its kinda of funny every once in awhile something reminds me of things Dad would do. Like my companion wakes me up with stupid stuff or making pancakes. Oh man I miss waking up to pancakes from Dad. Could you give me grandmas address? I need to mail some stuff home. Im not sure if I told you but I moved apartments recently and so I sorted out a bunch of stuff I don't really need but I want to keep. So Ill probably just send stuff home and If you guys could just store it for me when I get home that would be perfecto!

The dentist was actually really good. I didn't even feel the injection. They did everything in 1 visit so I had my mouth open FOREVER. But other than that it was really good. Its kinda funny how all the receptionists are trying to be super nice and friendly but its really fake. A for effort though.

This week as far as investigators Id title it "How to lose an investigator in 10 days" spin off of "How to lose a guy in 10 days" (reference made) We met a ton of now people who seemed really interested and then fall off the earth. We had 6 baptismal dates set and now were at 1. Almost all of them turned out to be crazy situations. We went to visit a family we met in the projects and the mother was on the phone and trying to take care of her 5 kids and was talking about how her husband ran away (we think he has drug problems and ran away to relapse) as if he was a dog that ran off. Actually not even that, I have been more concerned about Sophie running away than she was about her husband. It was really sad. One of the kids that answered the door was trying to tell us this before his mom came downstairs and when we asked if he dad was here he said "My dads on the street!" we thought he meant like went on a walk or sometimes people around here have like food carts that they sell stuff out of on the street but he literally meant his dad was homeless. Satan is doing a really good job around here destroying families. But it does end with a happy story. We have this really sweet girl we are teaching named Nancy. Shes 16 so its kind of hard to keep her focused and interested but we have managed. Something that's really helped is a returned missionary in the ward who teaches seminary. So hes really good at teaching younger people. Shes got a baptismal date for the 23rd So ill report back in a couple weeks with pictures and all that good stuff.

Im not sure how missionaries are physically able to function with all that we do but somehow it works out. Love and miss everyone so much!

Elder Wilson
