Hello hello!
Well the english ward is super weird.White people are so mean. People will make a point to be rude to us as soon as we mention were missionaries. We even had a guy try to use him being gay as a reason for not believing in God. Its seriously like a different mission being out of spanish. In spanish our work was about 95% personal efforts and 5% ward help in finding people. But in english since no one wants to talk to us let alone talk religion finding is mostly through the ward. Which is so weird. I think it makes the missionaries kind of lazy because they can just sit around and wait to people to invite the missionaries over to teach their friends. My companion is a district leader so atleast he knows he needs to be the example. The ward is really cool. Everyone has callings and most everyone does their home/visit teaching. Its amazing! I went all last week thinking we had absolutely no work so I was going through the area book trying to find past people that were taught or less active members to try and visit but not much was coming out of it. Then I get to church and the reaction I got was pretty much "Why are you visiting people who didnt ask you to come over when we have people in the ward with friends that want to learn" It was a slap in the face for trying to help the area. So we will see how this goes.
A family invited us over for dinner next Sunday and said that she had Skype available for us, so that was super nice being taken care of like that. We should be Skyping about 3 my time.
Im so glad to hear you got the job switch figured out. How far away is tremonton then? Im sure Grandma is glad to keep sophie in the house... I mean have her family with her still. Which reminds me, best part of being in english, everyone has dogs! And even better they arent the nasty ones of Watts, they are nice house dogs. So you know im enjoying that. Last week it was SO hot and I thought thats how the weather is all the time so I was really dreading it, then It finally cooled down sunday and I was in for a real treat. I was like "The weather is so nice today!" and my companion looked at me dumb and was like "this is the everyday weather" Its kind of warm but there is like a really cool breeze almost always. Its so nice being so close to the ocean! If everyone around here wasnt so weird I would consider living around here. Oh and quick diabetes update: Ive been so worried about my blood sugar going low ive been trying to keep my blood sugar higher, but its ended up being really high all the time. So we will see how this works out.
Crazy story of the week: We talked to this lady who was outside with her kid and she was interested in temples, so we set up a loose appointment to come back and talk. But she wasnt home (Big surprise) so we talked to her neighbor who was outside. Turns out he has mormon family and was super open to talking for a minute and gave us come gatorade. We got talking and he eventually invited us to eat dinner with him. We had some AMAZING Carne Asada which is the most latin food ive had for a week, sad story. But he eventually got asking questions about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon so we answered his questions, told him about our beliefs and even left him a Book of Mormon. It was a really cool experience, especially after a HOT day of biking and no one wanting to talk to us.
Things are looking up so we will see how this pans out! Love you all!
