Weekly letter

We found a family of 6! We havent actually taught the family together yet but we taught the dad and he was super accepting. He said "Yes It makes sense that we needed a restoration, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was drastically distorted without the guidance of a Prophet." I was jumping for joy in my head when he said that.I hear that the head of the family is usually the one who has the most problems as far as letting the family be baptized. He almost accepted a baptismal date but he is going to be in mexico for like 3 weeks so thats kind of a problem. Its super cool how much my spanish has improved. I will sometimes catch myself listening to things and im like holy cow this is in spanish. Its really a miracle because I dont know how the switch has happened. Most of what I hear just kind of clicks and I dont have to try and translate to english in order to translate.

Our ner district leader is the former assistant to the president. So thats kind of intimidating. But its cool because he is super experienced so that will be good to get thing sorted out around here. Only downside is he is an english elder... yikes.

My companion was in Hollywood last transfer and he taught the husband of the woman who plays the mom in the show the sweet life of zack and cody. He met her too. So thats super cool. The dad is a less active returned missionary. My companion said its just really hard because the dad knows the teaching styles of the missionaries and purposely avoids questions that would steer the conversation towards himself or church. And the mom has a misconception about the church and doesnt want to meet with missionaries past feeding them.  He said she was really nice though!

We meet with a woman in a park last week and there was a random guy riding a horse around the park. In the middle of south central. It was super weird. I mean ive seen horses before so it wasnt THAT weird but the woman we were teaching grew up here and I guess hasnt seen a horse before. Very odd.

The parents will get a kick out of this. I was using the bathroom at a members house and saw this Glister toothpaste that looked really familiar and then I remembered using it as a lad. Good ole Amway. #Throwback

At dinner the other day my companion asked a daughter of a member why she hasnt been coming to church and she replied with a spanish expression that basically means the blankets stick to me so I sleep in. My companion instantly replied "Well bring the blankets to church!" I thought it was pretty funny.

Thats about all I can think of for this week. My new companion is super good at what he does, Ill try and remember my camera cord next week so I can send a picture of us being clowns! Love you guys!
