Hello!!
This week has been crazy town. So as you know I was transferred to the La Cienega ward. Which is in Santa Monica. Right below the mission office. Which is a NICE area. Its not as nice as Redondo but its in Spanish so in comparison.... Its realty nice! The area is HUGE. We literally couldn't get around in it and so My comp bought a GPS to navigate this mess of an area we serve in. I really don't like being transferred but.. aqui estoy. My companion is Elder Gillman. Which is funny because he was almost my trainer. The way it worked back then (I talk like Im an old man.) was you would get a trainer assigned for overnight and then go back the next day and get the final decision on who your trainer will be. Supuestamente to give president more time to think on the assignations he made. But I was with E. Gillman overnight. He actually last transfer was a Zone leader but he just got overloaded with stress so President wanted to give him a break from leadership for a bit to let him recoup. Along with that its kind of known in the mission as a babysitting position to be the companion of a district leader. So people just assume he got in trouble and got taken out of leadership. Hes really awesome and a fantastic missionary. He just hit a rough part in the mission and like the rest of us needed time to think. Im so excited to be with him. The sad part was that I got transferred away from E. Gale :(. We were just having too good of a time. I swear that's how it is in the mission. As soon as you figure things out in the area and get along really well with your companion you get ripped right out.
Okay so really cool things happened this week. There is a man in my ward that has cerebral palsy. Obviously he needs help doing everything. He cant really help with their family or much else but his wife keeps pushing on. Yesterday at church I looked up right as she was helping him take the sacrament. It was just super sweet to see them. It was like seeing the Physical version of what we do as missionaries spiritually. I regret all the time not reaching out to those that were around me before my mission. The mission has a really funny way of helping you straighten out priorities. We are truly here on this earth with our brothers and sisters to help ALL who desire to return to our Father in heaven. Its a roller coaster but its so much more manageable when you know where were headed. Love you all so much! take care!
