Holiday post 12-29-14

Hello!

Im so excited for all of the Holidays to be over! Holidays are not holidays on a mission. They are just days that more people are drunk and less people on the streets. Sheesh.

3 high points of the week:

Bernardo: We finally got a real referral! He is from Guatemala, lives here with his family and is super chill! We talked with him about how hes really hated seeing other churches toil over money and people being very hypocritical. Its been really exciting this week to find people who are so eager to learn. He seemed excited about attending church too! Unfortunately he went out of town this weekend so maybe next week.

Sergio: Less active member from Argentina who was baptized hace 20 years. and hasn't tried to find the church since he left and came here. Not sure why its so engrained in latin culture to assume if you find a church, it only exists in that one place. But really cool guy.

Michael: His name isn't Michael. He was named in some crazy Mexican dialect and so his name is like Ktylxfts or something but he said he goes by Michael here in the states. He is SO devoted to God and tries to do everything he can to follow Him. He works almost every day so its going to be hard to help him come to church but he has been prepared by the Lord. No doubt. Insane to see how close we are to people who are so close to the truth but just don't know where to find it. Times like these are why we serve missions.

Happy New Years! Hope everyone gets lots of Tamales!
