Letter from our Missionary!

Hola familia!

My oh my! I remember a year ago at this time I was just a wee little lad down in Watts! The good ol days! I told Dad but I'll say it again I CANNOT believe Parker is 16. I still feel like I'm the one going to Priests quorum. Scary to think how fast time is going by!

So my companion and I are out and about finally! He actually just had the flu but it hit him hard. And despite all my efforts I still think I got sick. But the work must go on! Im sure you all have already seen it but in our mission we are a week deep in the He Is the Gift initiative. Please everyone if you haven't seen the video on Christmas.mormon.org please go watch it! Its actually been a really cool way to talk to people about what we do and who we are focused on, through something that they celebrate, which is CHRISTMAS! My current area is filled with Koreans, Indians, and crazy people of assorted races. But pretty much everyone celebrates Christmas so its really natural. Haha we even talked to these girls passing out flyers on the corner outside of their church and He is the Gift. They were giving out a sheet that said "Are you a Christian?" and we talked to them about what the purpose of Christmas and how they can let their friends and the people they know through the He is the Gift video they are Christians! I think my companion was a little taken back when I started giving them a card because we had taken one of their haha.

The pump and dexcom are both at UCLA waiting for me, but I cant get in until Thursday for trainings. I will also get my a1c checked that day so more to come on that.

Oh forgot to mention the church building we go to is a registered landmark and was build in like 1927. It was going to be torn down like 20 years ago but the people here got it registered as a landmark so that it could stay. A member of the quorum of the 12 said that to get the old building up top code costed more that it would've to tear the whole thing out and build one from scratch. Yikes. But its a cool building non the less. Will send pics home of that next week!

That's all from me today. Its been a slow week. Hasta Luego!

Elder Wilson
