Letter from Elder Mitch Wilson 5-12-15

This week starts the final stretch of Elder Tafisi's mission. Me, being the super fortunate person that I am, have been placed into areas my ENTIRE mission I like to describe as "Unkempt parts of the vineyard." But in the mean time in these areas, My mission has been a test of patience. I keep hearing of all these amazing breakthroughs that other missionaries are having and I'm over here still reorganizing the area book. Any who, So we've been trying really really hard these past few weeks to get things going. I feel like we are trying to start a fire with soaking wet wood over here. Something is going to happen I can feel it.

On lighter news I have just about finished the book Jesus The Christ. Which is quite the read let me tell you. If anyone is looking to read that, word of advice skip the first 5 chapters.

Last night was the departing missionary fireside. Which basically is a testimony meeting for the missionaries that are leaving. Its really cool to be able to see other cultures and how they celebrate. Polynesians just kept coming out of nowhere to give Elder Tafisi more Leis. He made the Joke in his testimony about how trying the mission is and how his hairline is catching up to President Weidmans. (If you dont know what his hair looks like please take a moment to google David N. Weidman) Elder Tafisi said President always makes jokes like "Elder Tafisi every time I see you it gets harder to wrap my arms around you." So Elder Tafisi was determined to return that favor haha!

Yesterday at church my companion and I were asked to share with the youth how our missions have helped shape us. I was not jumping on that opportunity let me tell you but it turned out really well. I'm not sure if any of the youth got anything out of it, but it really hit home for me the fact that we don't appreciate anything until its gone. I got a glimpse into not being a missionary from that combined with my companion going home next week and it scared me to death. On that note, life goes on. :) Were trying really hard to finish our missions before our missions end on us.

Con Amor,
Elder Wilson
