Great testimony from Elder Wilson 5-18-15

This week has been the last for Elder Tafisi. Things have been going really great. We have had the best week of the Transfer. Unfortunately I feel the words of this email wont express the excitement for this area!

Finding: I am serving in an English area, I don't know what it is about English areas but they (according to the numbers) just don't find as much. I think its partly to the fact that finding is different, between actual ways of finding and rate of finding. But history is only going to repeat itself if we don't learn from it and change our outcomes right? In the past week we have found 5 new investigators. A sweet mother of 6 (who I will talk about later on), her 2 daughters who are also meeting with us, a Filipino man named Albino, and a girl who we found while looking for her grandmother named Ambrosia.

Last week we met a woman on the street named Grizelda, Shes a single mother of 6, her oldest is 12. She works nights, goes to school in the day, and was recently diagnosed with cancer. So she has had quite the life leading up to now. It was kind of a miracle we found her just because I didn't see her at all and Elder Tafisi went way out of his way to talk to her. She had met with Missionaries in the past but hadn't really listened, she just liked the missionaries. Well we finally were able to meet with her, and she invited her friend, Gina to listen too! It was kind of crazy with 6 kids running around and being crazy but it eventually leveled out and we were able to talk to the 2 oldest kids, Gina, and Grizelda. Really cool experience

Other really cool experience; We were looking for a less active member named Ruth and we bumped into her granddaughter Ambrosia. Turns out Ruth had recently died (that's not the cool part). We offered to share more with her about the Book of Mormon and set a return appointment to bring her a copy of the Book of Mormon. But when we came back she turned us away and said she had found her grandmas' copy and doesn't need us to come back anymore. Saddened we scratched her off the list. Then last night we had some extra time before dinner and we were trying to think of someone we could visit with the 20 or so minutes we had. So we went to visit a family that has let the missionaries visit them for awhile but doesn't want to progress. Well they weren't home so we were making our way back to the car to think some more. AS we were walking back we saw Ambrosia had a ton of stuff on her front porch so we stopped by to see how she was doing. We talked with her for a minute and going to be honest it was kind of awkward. After a few minutes of small talk about the yard sale she was having and the move she was in the middle of, she asked one of those golden questions. "Is there anything in the Book of Mormon that can help me?" she said. As we were picking up our jaws she told us of how she had just been having a panic attack and was super overwhelmed with all she had to do, during that she looked outside and saw two boys in white shirts and ties walking up her driveway. God answers prayers ladies and gentleman! We talked with her about the Book of Mormon and left her with a chapter to read in the BoM and a prayer. This woman who a week earlier had coldly turned us away is now reading the Book of Mormon and praying. I love being a missionary. Mostly because of times like these where you KNOW that you have been helpful. But I feel the best part is because God knows his children. So well! And infinitely better than us, its almost like we have a cheat sheet on what to do. There is truly nothing better than this.

I love you all! Hope the best for you this week.

Elder Wilson
