Most important part of the week happened last night. We ate with a wonderful Tongan family. And they fed us Horse.
Past that... We have been going hard with not a lot of result.
Yesterday in church the Elder Quorum was about having real intent. I felt like it was a great lesson. But I dont remember much about what was actually said. One of my favorite saying about church meetings follows just that principal
"What was said, isn't nearly as important as what was heard."
Often ive looked back over notes from a general authority or mission meeting and realized what I wrote down was different from what was said. But its given me new insight into what the spirit, not the speaker, told me.
So yesterday was like that and what really stuck with me was the parable of the oranges:
From a talk by Elder Ridd, I learned attention to detail often indicates a sense of care. But how that applies as a missionary is the attention to the people. And how that shows love. I think that is the biggest change in myself that I have seen. I (somehow) have learned to look outward to those around instead of myself. What a change in the way I treat people it has made. A change of who I am. Amazing how simply the commandment to do this was.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
I am so grateful for the change in my life this gospel has given me. How through the grace of God we can not only be saved, but be changed. I love the Lord and all He has done for me.
