Letter from Elder Wilson 1-27-14

Buenas familia!

I was just saying this morning "Wow it feels awesome outside! Then I read that its 6 degrees outside haha. Tough. Biking has been going fine. Its been the longest week of my life though haha. We got the call this morning that I can temp. drive again. But that was after we biked 3.5 miles. So we had yet another week of riding to the grocery store on a bike. But its over so all is well.

My first transfer I lucked out. Every other transfer we alternate between interviews with president and going to the temple. But I was lucky because I got to go to the temple my first transfer. It was soooo different that was nice. Its the 2nd biggest temple and its has a way cool visitors centers with a ton of cool activities and thing to read about the temple and about Christ. Our family definitely needs to make a trip back here and visit the Temple(and disneyland).

Oh gee I hope Addison didn't read my letter out loud. Let me tell you mom people don't play around when they get letters from me (joking). I finally sent Jordan a letter so were back on track with that. OH and hopefully get Sister Robinsons letter this Friday. I swear I heard that bit about Jordan before, was that awhile ago? Or did he do that same thing again? haha.

The Spanish is getting a lot better. I can understand most everything. Except really weird accents or people talking too fast. Its funny how much more I know (vocab wise) about Gospel topics verses regular chatting. When church related stuff comes up I can speak alot more. But I haven't been forced very much to speak it because my companion speaks really well but I've been forcing myself to talk a lot more. The only way to get better at it is to speak. Which isn't always easy.Oh and most of out investigators actually speak english so that so thats made it hard to learn

We have a woman named Reina Torres that just accepted a baptismal date, Her husband just died and has really taken a tole on her and her family. But shes been really progressing and she actually told us she believes the Book of Mormon to be true. You cant imagine how much I wanted to jump up and down when she said that. Our other date is for Victor Quirroz, hes an ex-gangster who is finally turning around. Hes been talking with the missionaries for 3 years now but we have really solid plans to change a few things and help him do what he needs to to get baptized.

I'm too excited to hear about your Family Home Evening and scripture study, That is one of the biggest hurdles we have with people. If you do those things together there's no way you can be contentious, When the spirit is present everyone is edified.

Some weird things that happened this week, We went with the english elders our of our area and were visiting an older couple, one of them is up and about, but her husband is reaaaaaallly old and can't do anything himself. He's living on priesthood blessings. So while we were there we helped him get changed and get into bed. You cant understand a thing he says so we just say yes to everything he says. Oh missionary struggles.

Our Priesthood teacher always does weird habitual things while teaching and so this week we counted how many times he would walk back to the chalkboard and make an unnecessary mark on the chalkboard. 46 times. within like 20 min. Its was a good time.

I cant really think of anything else thats that crazy. Were finally off of bikes, amen!

Con Amor!
Elder Wilson
