Hello hello hello!
thank you for the shirts! My companion actually just got some in the mail and they are bein nice! I was wondering if you could send me some clear document protectors. the ones that fit in 3 ring binders. I tried to buy some here but they were crazy expensive so I thought maybe you could find some there or online for cheap.
We have no plans for the 4th. We have to be in by 6. Our apartment is kinda crazy so I don't think we will be able to see many fireworks. Im not sure what we are going to do.
So you know we have this English class that we teach, Well this woman named
Anabell came to came last week. She actually had pretty good English. We always offer a church tour after English class and she accepted. She wansnt terribly interested in the church aspect because she had had a really bad experience with a different church in the past. But she was polite about it. Well we invited her to come to church and see the difference but she wansnt convinced so she just said "oh, okay well if I have time I will." kind of thing. Later she told us that she had to work on Sunday mornings. So Sunday rolls around and we were at church making copies before sacrament meeting and one of the other missionaries said to us" I think Anabell from LAE is outside. Shes sitting in her car and looks way nervous." We were pretty confused because she was one of the last people we expected to show up to church. We went and met her outside and greeted her and everything and I asked what happened with her work, I thought she couldn't come. She just replied "Yo no fui" the way she said it was basically like "I just didn't go" My jaw dropped of course. She told us that she has a friend visiting from Miami and they went out to the club last night. She said she hadn't gone out for 12 years and so finally she had the chance and everything worked out. But as she was sitting in the club drinking her water, listening to the music she used to like, she just felt like it wasn't fulfilling. So she left. She didn't know where to go because it was late and she didn't want to be at the club. Then she remembered the invitation to come to church. So she did. She didn't know why but she didn't want to be at work, didn't want to be at home, didn't want to be anywhere. So church it was. During church she made comments about how she felt things related exactly to her. The talk "Come join with us" by President Utchdorf came up a lot that day. And that was exactly what she needed to hear. Before church that day she didn't want us to come to her house and teach more because she said its her parents house that shes at and they are really catholic and they wouldn't like it. But after church she asked what she has to do to get missionaries to come to her house. She said she see the unity the gospel brings to the families and she wants that for hers. She has 2 daughters that she wants us to meet with too! While driving home I remembered my prayers the night before. I was feeling frustrated with all the work we were doing but nothing was coming of it. I prayed that we would see a miracle at church the next morning. The Lord is so good to us. I know he hears and answered our prayers. I know that hes concerned with the personal trials and struggles of each and everyone of us. And Im so thankful for the time I have to serve Him. Oh I forgot to tell you. We were walking by this bench and a guy asked us what we were selling. We were putting up LAE ads and so we told him about that and he said oh you need to teach this guy ( pointing to the guy next to him) some English. He was a man from El Salvador who was obviously really drunk. We gave him a card of Jesus Christ and he started yelling about how much he loves Jesus Christ and how he can be made new through Christ and a whole bunch of stuff. Turns out the guy who first started talking to us was about to beat up this drunk guy because he touched his "girl" (who was 22 by the way, he was 47 gross) but I translated the stuff he was yelling and so timothy was like "you know what, if hes a man of God, ill forgive him" I think we might have just prevented a street murder that day.
