Hello!
Not much new here. Were trying hard to get things organized and sorted. There are a lot of loose ends in this area. Its been a lot harder this week because work isn't just falling into our laps and I think the discouragement is setting in on my companion.
However... Today while I was getting my haircut we got a call from a restricted number. My companion a little bit later said "You need to listen to this voicemail its really weird. The lady was like talking into a tunnel or something and it was in Spanish so that made it harder to understand. But what the voicemail said was that we had stopped by but she wasn't home (We usually leave notes when we try someone and they aren't home.) So she called us back. Turns out she used to be investigating the church but missionaries lost contact with her. We have an appointment set with her for tomorrow. WHAT A MIRACLE. Ive been praying a lot about it and I feel that we can achieve the goal of helping 1 person be baptized this transfer. I think she is the answer to my prayer. Im so excited to meet her. Its amazing the way we feel about people can change so dramatically when we look at them through Christ's eyes. Its not that we see this woman as a number or someone that we can 'convert'. We know the joys and the happiness shes going to feel, and more importantly the opportunity she has to change her life.
Im not sure if I told you but the only things that was marked off for on the last apartment check was some trash left in the trashcan. Apartment checks are soon so we will see if we can get the 100%. #FC
Everything is going really well, The work is slow but at least we have our English class to keep up busy with advertising.
I did find this book in our apartment and it was about like becoming more converted and how that plays into sharing the gospel for members and missionaries. But anyway it really made me think. Im 9 months into my mission. That's dang near halfway over already and I don't feel like I am where I wanted to be by this point. I hear all these crazy mission stories people have and times they had amazingly spiritual lessons and things. But I kinda feel like ive just learned the motions. So this week Ive been doing all I can to focus on the spirit, to better learn how to help others recognize it. Ive realized how much I end up talking about pointless things like things from highschool or something I saw on twitter. And missing out on whats going on here. Elder Ballard said "The mission isn't about giving those we teach information, its about giving them ourselves." Its a process but at least I know where Im at.
Much Love
