Ill be honest with you this has been the worst birthday yet. I just feels like any other day. So onward we go. But just so everyone knows. For any holiday just send me Panda Express gift cards. Its been way too much of a hassle to move things and of course you dont want to throw things away or go through the line of sending a package. But all is well.
Funny story: I havent gotten those pants yet. Hopefully they get here before I go home! :)
Nothing too new has happened this week. Its going by way too fast. Next week is already the "Crunch time" before transfers. Were pretty sure were here to stay so that's a breath of fresh air. As you know we were both moved into the area so its been frustrating trying to get things sorted out and moving along. Our LA english unit used to be the top unit in the mission but its now at dead last and next on the chopping block. So this past week we have been covering our area with advertisements and praying! Last week I finished the Book of Mormon! I restarted when you told me you started the BoM last time. Did you finish? We have been going through and highlighting references to the Savior. Definitely worth trying out.
We were called last week to move furniture out of an apartment of the Samoan elders. It was recently "condemned" so you could imagine how excited we were to go in there. So we drive all the way down to South Central (Back home) to this apartment that was SUPER close to my first area! Hours of moving things out and filling bags on bags on bags with things I never thought a missionary would bring into an apartment. I swear we found a Book of Mormon in every language possible. It was super disgusting but we finished after hours laboring in that stuffy apartment. Bright side was that we got to eat at this burger place that has HUGE burgers for $1. SO GOOD. That is on the list of places to bring you to in LA.
College things: tomorrow is my 12 month training where we have to handle all that nonsense so I will let you know next week what we figure out. I believe ill have lots to stress over that for next week. Fun.
I have a ton of pics I need to upload but I forgot my camera cord so we will see I can borrow a cord from someone else.
Last night we had dinner with a white family that is in our ward. They lived in Spain for awhile so they speak pretty good spanish so they figured they would attend a spanish ward while the dad is going to school here at UCLA. They have 5 kids, the oldest is 11. So it was quite the crazy night. They fed us a turkish soup (They lived in turkey for a few years) and this special Turkish chocolate dessert. Such an awesome dinner that was. We also learned last week how to make Chocoflan (google it) so we volunteered to make the dessert next time that we come over.
Lastly, Saturday we got to see a sneak pear premier of the movie Meet the Mormons. Which is a church produced movie to show what Mormon families all over the world are like and how we are so diverse. So many people see our church as "A white-mans church" But it shows really well how this is the Church of Jesus Christ and is for every single one of Gods children. It was a really great time. Cant wait to get that on my iPad. (we just have to get the iPad first)
Thats all for this week! Take care.
Elder Wilson
